Great report!
I like all the pics, I wouldn't have liked the crashes, both where they walked away but especially where they didn't.

I never timed my lap times, it was a bit cloudy for the hourglass...
Bong followed me on the out-lap on my second session, but he started dozing off after the first lap so passed me. It was around 3 minutes, but I'll bet I didn't speed that up very much for the day. I'd like to say it was that the 690 was slow on the straights, but it was just me being slow.
I didn't crash or run anyone off the track though.

Really glad to hear you guys were not one of those being hauled off.

Mark

Matt did a great job of describing our 2 days at Thunderhill. It was a long drive there and back and requires a big decision to get the time off and put in the hours and $$ to make it happen.

Someone once said, "As you grow older, you'll find the only things you regret are the things you didn't do."

On the way home, we stopped at one of my personal favorites.

Thanks for the company Matt!

Mark and Matt are being humble...here's what they ate at the Redding In-N-Out Burger joint on the way home!

That was Wilcox's order, no way you can eat that much.

Thanks for sharing the trip with us, Matt and Mark! Matt was tempting me with this trip, looks like it was a lot of fun. Sorry about the washout there Mark, just glad you and the bike came out fairly well.

What a time you guys had. Thanks for sharing, even though I know, Mark, you didn't want to have to share the dust-up.

Now, for the really important part: Where do I get one of those burgers?

Really bummed I couldn't make it! Sitting in the office definitely doesn't come close to the fun you guys had. Great summary - Thanks! Glad everyone is ok - And impressive lap times Mark! Way to go!

Man that is a lot of food!

Mark's picture is making me hungry though. (And I just ate lunch )

It was a great time and definitely worth the effort. (especially now that I'm caught up on sleep)

Yeah, Bong was kind enough to follow me for 1 1/2 laps last spring before he moved on.

After the session -

Me - "So what'd you think"

Bong - "You look ok out there, you just need to work on carrying more speed."

Me - "Oh yeah, where?"

Bong - "Everywhere"

Definitely made some progress though. I think I can move from a sun dial to a digital timer now.

Definite progress - Lines, smoothness, lean angle

Needs work - Body position, sooner/faster (but smoothly) on the gas, more comfortable under heavy braking

We had a great time, but it's definitely more fun with a whole crowd of Italian bikes.

We'll have to get Jody and George back in the mix with the usual suspects next time.
